Finding a coffee shop you love as soon as you arrive in a new place feels essential.
It becomes a daily anchor in an otherwise unfamiliar rhythm, a small sense of normal
amongst the chaos. This one was Café du Clown in Paris. I always seemed to
overhear Australians there, which made it feel instantly comforting. There’s a natural
warmth to coffee shops, that deep brown presence from the coffee itself, grounding
and familiar. And then there’s butter yellow, a colour that feels like energy, like joy in
a cup. No matter the city, if a place aligns with you, in that moment, it becomes your
anchor.
