Our days in Nice, France were some of our favourites of the entire trip. We stayed in
the Old Town, close to the ocean and surrounded by cafés we quickly grew attached
to. One of those was Maranna, just around the corner from where we were staying. It
served more American-style food, which my children loved, but also the best
Americano and espresso. It became a small anchor for me while navigating jet lag
and the unfamiliar rhythm of a new country. Inside, the raw rock textures and muted,
easy palettes felt instantly calming. I always tried to sit and have my coffee there, the French way, but if I needed takeaway, their cups never failed to make me
smile. Hotter than your ex felt cheeky and memorable, the kind of detail that sticks.
Wandering the streets of Nice, surrounded by sunlit yellows and moody walls, was
an experience that stayed with me long after we left.
